Lodging and Dining

Since Deming is basically a "come down and stay the winter" area, our influx of visitors seeking respite from the cold, miserable winters of  the North and Northeast begins in October and builds up right into December. By then, things tend to get a little crowded, so be sure to have your reservations set!

There are 15 motels in Deming ranging in price from $49.99 down to $29.95. Six of them have restaurants, two have lounges, all but two have pools, and all of them provide air conditioning and cable TV.

In addition, there are 13 nice, clean RV parks with all the amenities: swimming pools, hot tubs, game rooms, laundry. Prices vary, with  the  average being $10.00 a night or $110.00 a month plus electric and cable TV. Several pamper their guests with coffee and donuts in the morning.

There are over thirty restaurants in Deming where you can choose from varied menus to suit your taste. When was the last time you had a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes for $4.99? (Bet you can't eat it all!)

There are American, Mexican, Italian and Chinese, serving everything from "burgers and fries" to full course meals. There are also salad bars  and buffets for indoor dining and a deli for patio dining, as well as drive up windows at the fast food places for those in a hurry. Either way, you can relax in a South of the Border atmosphere and enjoy your meal.

And for Senior Citizens who like to mingle, a favorite place is the Deming Senior Center. Here, you can enjoy not only good food prepared by Lupe Acosta and her staff (her Beef Chimichanga is fabulous), but a wide variety of activities as well. If you would like to know more you can write to them at:

Deming-Luna County Senior Center
800 South Granite, Deming, NM 88030
or call them at 505-546-8823.

And for a change of pace, drive 32 miles south to Las Palomas, Chih., Mexico. and really dine South of the Border.
Deming also has Taxi service and Rental Car services.
Come visit with us, stay awhile.
