Medical Specialties and Services

Mimbres Memorial Hospital is a full-service, 49-bed acute care facility, providing a
full range of both primary and secondary care services. It begins with a fully equipped 10-bed obstetrics unit, where more than 300 babies are born each year.
We offer a wide variety of outpatient services, including physical therapy,
respiratory therapy and X-ray examinations. The radiology department is fully
equipped with ultrasound, X-ray, CT-Scanner, MRI and mammography capabilities.
The hospital has both a pharmacy and a pathology laboratory, as well as specially trained emergency room personnel on-call 24 hours a day.
Senior Care
A 69-bed Senior Care facility offers senior adults a secure, structured and caring
environment. We are ready to meet your special needs, including physical therapy,
respiratory therapy, and meals prepared to meet special diets.
Senior adults stay involved with the community: dining out, shopping and sightseeing are frequent activities. Daily activities include exercise and music programs, health education, church worship, and visits. A family Council and an Internal Residence Council encourage involvement of Senior Care and their families, serving as an open forum for input.
Hospice Care
Mimbres Valley Hospice Care provides physical, spiritual and emotional support
for the terminally ill. A caring team of nurses, home health aides, physical
therapists and social workers offer 24-hour support, giving both patients and their
families a central role in care decisions. Compassionate volunteers help take
care of life's many details, from writing letters to running errands, so family
members can concentrate their time and attention on helping the person they love.
Spiritual counseling is available through a network of local clergy. If needed,
a respite care option allows the patient to visit the hospital for five days.
Bereavement support and counseling is also available to the family in the year
following the passing of a loved one.
Home Health Services
The Home Health Services program at Mimbres Memorial Hospital allows people who are
homebound to receive the medical attention they deserve without a lengthy hospital
stay. A professional staff of nurses, physical therapists, social workers and
health aides offer a full range of medical services -- from administering IV fluids
and antibiotics to helping with daily personal care such as bathing, dressing and
exercising -- all in the comfort and privacy of the patient's home. Continuing
education keeps patients well informed about symptoms, diet and preventative
measures to promote the healing process.
